Inherited-property decision guide

Should you sell, donate or clear inherited belongings?

Not every inherited property should be emptied immediately. The right sequence depends on potentially valuable items, family review, deadlines and how much of the home must be cleared.

Consider an estate sale or appraisal first

If the property contains collections, antiques, jewelry, art or other potentially valuable items, an estate-sale or appraisal professional may need to review them before hauling.

Use staged cleanout when decisions are unfinished

A staged approach can separate keep, sell and remove categories while family or legal review continues.

Use a full cleanout when the property deadline controls

When the remaining contents have been reviewed and the home must be ready for sale, repair or possession, a coordinated property cleanout may be the faster path.

Do not mix restricted materials into general junk

Paint, chemicals, medications, ammunition and other restricted materials require separate handling and should be disclosed before service.

Service note: The assigned provider confirms authority, access, scope, price, accepted materials and scheduling before work begins.
